The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa
Released: August 1st, 2010
Published by: Harlequin Teen
Series: The Iron Fey, Book Two
Page Amount: 358 pages
This is the second book in the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. Though not intentional, the following review and synopsis may contain what may be considered spoilers. Do not read ahead if you have not read The Iron King and Winter's Passage.
"Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron Fey, iron-bound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her. Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's alone in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart."

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. I have sat here, staring at a blank computer screen for at least five minutes, wondering how to start off this review. There is no way that any review I could write would do this book justice. So I'm just gonna say it now before I begin my ramble attempting to explain the fireworks of joy in my tummy: Do whatever you have to to get your hands on a copy of this book and then devour it. This book could not be any better. Fans of the Iron King should start preparing themselves for the journey they will be taking on August 1st, because Kagawa holds nothing back in this novel.
First of all, the love in this story drives me insane. Like, Edward/Bella insane. Sorry Edward and Jacob, I found me some new men to love. Somehow Kagawa has reached into my soul, discovered everything I love in a male being and fashioned them into Puck and Ash.
Then, aside from sighing out of lust one page and then out of anger the next, Kagawa managed to keep this exciting story line going without repeating herself as most authors often do in their sequels. I didn't find myself bored once throughout the entire novel, I only found myself dying to devour this book until I had nothing left to read. Then, once I was finished, I realized that I was reading this before it was released to stores. Which was awesome when I started, but now it just means I have even longer to wait until the Iron Queen comes out. I could have cried.
But, I will stop my rambling now, because I could say a million and one reasons as to why this is one of my favorite books and series of all times.
All in All: If you do not pick up this book, you are crazy. Remember the days when people were shoving Twilight(I keep mentioning Twilight because this was one of the only other series that had me going this crazy) towards you, and you were a little reluctant to read it... but then you finally did and immediately went out and purchased the rest of the books? You will get that feeling when you finish the Iron Daughter. Julie Kagawa could not have written a better sequel.
